11'' x 9'' double-sided advertisement flyer by Reid & Sons selling a replica of the Roman Silver Spoon Found at Benwell, Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 1926. Unusually large Roman spoon found at Benwell Fort during excavations by James A. Petch in 1926. It has an oval bowl with inside rim, the handle is in three roughly equal lengths. The spoon is 170 mm long and the bowl is 41 mm wide. EDX analysis by University of Newcastle shows that it is made of over 99% silver with minute traces of copper and iron. Repaired tears to the top edge, folded line across the centre. Flyer states 'Royalty payable to The North of England Excavation Committee on every spoon sold'. Two other single-sided photographs showing the site in Benwell and the actual spoon. Member of the P.B.F.A.
