French travel work documenting Alphonse de Lamartine's 1832-1833 journey to the Orient. Contains portrait frontispiece, (vii)-blank, 271; frontispiece engraved plate of Jerusalem, 329 pp, French text. Just a little age toning to the end papers and title pages. From the private library of Corby Castle a Grade I listed building and ancestral home of the Howard family situated on the southern edge of the village of Great Corby in Cumbria with Corby Castle coat of arms bookplate to the front paste down and SIGNED 'Henry Howard' to the second front free end paper.
