Hard back binding in publisher's original Brunswick green cloth covers, gilt stamped title and author block lettering and symmetrical black decorations to the spine and to the front cover, blind stamping to the rear board, all page edges gilt, brown umber end papers. 8vo. 7½'' x 5¼''. Contains tissue-guarded portrait frontispiece, (xx), 524 pp with monochrome engraved illustrations throughout by the Brothers Dalziel. Front end paper cracked and repaired, rubbing to the spine caps and corners, else in Very Good condition. Member of the P.B.F.A.
