Publisher's original wire stitched monochrome illustrated card wrap covers (soft back), M2 motorway bridge view to the front cover. Opened on 29 May 1963, by Ernest Marples, the Minister of Transport, the first Medway crossing formed a key element of the new M2 motorway. Built at a cost of £2.5 million, invitations to tender for the bridge's construction were sought in 1959. It consists of three main spans. The largest over the River Medway spans 500 ft, and the other two are 313 ft each. There are seventeen smaller spans of 100 to 135 ft. Oblong 8vo. 5¾'' x 8''. Contains 22 pp + covers with 13 pp text followed by 4 photographs and plan elevation technical drawings. A couple of spots to the front and rear covers, else in Very Good sound condition.
