Two advertisement flyers 7½'' x 5½'' printed on the front side only opening to 7½'' x 11'' for John Newton Painter and Gilder, Potter-Gate, Richmond (1817). (i): 'John Newton respectfully informs his friends and the public, that he has commenced business as a house painter and gilder - and he trusts, that from the long experience he has had, he will be enabled to execute the orders with which he may be favoured, in a manner to ensure their support. Chimney-Pieces and Wainscots stained in a superior style, and on the most reasonable terms, March 12th, 1817. (ii): House Decoration Flyer for Newton and Lawson (c1830) 'Paper Hangings and Decorations, having the largest, cheapest and best selected stock in the neighbourhood etc. Papers from 3½d to £1 per piece, Rooms Decorated in Harmony with every style of Architecture, Graining and Marbling, Enamelled White for Drawing Rooms, etc. Illuminated Ecclesiastical Writing for Churches, etc. Looking Glasses Silvered, Pictures and Needlework mounted and framed in various styles.
