The stories here originate from the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba, on the East Coast of Africa and were first collected by Bishop Edward Steere who lived there until 1882. Contains frontispiece, title page, [iv], 5-95 + [i] pp with 18 full-page single-sided plates, smaller illustrations between the plates, chapter headings and tail pieces throughout by Alice B. Woodward and Lilian Bell. Rubbing to the edges of the boards and in Very Good clean condition. Member of the P.B.F.A.
