Symons, Julian [1912-1994] Field Marshal Garnet Joseph Wolseley, 1st Viscount Wolseley (4 June 1833 - 25 March 1913) was an Anglo-Irish officer in the British Army. He became one of the most influential British generals after a series of victories in Canada, West Africa and Egypt, followed by a central role in modernising the British Army in promoting efficiency. [Major General Charles George Gordon CB (28 January 1833 - 26 January 1885), also known as Chinese Gordon, Gordon Pasha, and Gordon of Khartoum, was a British Army officer and administrator.
