Contains Tissue-guarded portrait frontispiece, (lxxxiv), 434 pp. pp 1 begins 'Poems | Verses Written at Bath, On Finding the Heel of a Shoe, in 1748'. 23 line printed poem adhered to the verso rear paste down titled 'A Poem | Not published in his Works' first two lines reads: 'Doom'd as I am in solitude waste - The present moments and regret the past'. Spotting to the end papers, beyond which the text block is in clean condition, from the private library of H. J. ?
