A liturgical book containing all instructions and texts necessary for the celebration of Mass throughout the year. Hard back binding in publisher's original ornate binding in rich burgundy levant morocco covers, rounded corners and scalloped edges with elaborate tooling in gilt, five raised bands to the spine with gilt title direct, gilt monogram to the front cover, inner gilt dentelles and turn-ins, racing green moirë watermarked satin end papers, all page edges gilt, red silk page marker. 8vo. 6'' x 4½''. Number 126 to the half-title page. Contains [xvi] 504 printed pages of Missal with bilingual text in French and Latin. Engraved frontispiece and three other plates after Rubens, Jean Jouvenet and Le Dominiquin, all with tissue guards, all pages decorated with elaborate borders. Two of the first page borders have been exquisitely coloured. Souvenir leaves have been entered in French with red fountain and dated 1907, 1910. The side margin to page 85 has a small thumb-nail piece of paper missing, minor rubs to the edges and in Very Good clean condition and without any foxing or tanning to the text block.
