First edition hard back binding in publisher's original coarsely woven oatmeal cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine and to the upper panel. 4to 11½'' x 8½''. Contains 38 printed pages of Polish and English text followed by 118 full-page colour plates and index. He studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts in 1926-1929 and since 1929 he continued his studies in Paris with Joseph Pankiewicza. He was a member of the group Crowns. In 1937, along with Joseph Jarema founded a school of painting them. Alexander Gierymski in Katowice. Appointed in 1948, professor of the Academy of Fine Arts, four served as rector of the university (1954-1967). He painted landscapes, still life's, portraits and figural compositions.
